Barrett

CEO

Grandson of the late Guy Bostick – trucking pioneer and founder of Comcar Industries – Barrett has served as President & CEO since acquiring Jim Bender, Inc. in 2018. Prior to that, Barrett served the same role with Commercial Carrier Corp garnering multiple service and safety awards. In 2016, that organization was recognized by Forbes as Top 250 of America’s Best Midsize Employers.

Barrett is inspired by customer collaborations, commitment to continuous improvement, and most of all, investments in people.

Away from Bender Transportation, Barrett and his wife Anna are proud parents of three sons: Mark, Ben, and Jack.

Barrett earned his B.B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from Tulane University. He still maintains a Class A CDL.

Fun Fact: Barrett has Run with the Bulls at the San Fermin Festival in Pamplona, Spain.

Chris

President & CFO

Chris joined Bender Transportation in 2022 as Chief Financial Officer. Her career in accounting and finance has spanned several industries including Retail Hardware, Retail Auto Parts, and Transportation. Chris’ approximate 20-year transportation experience is in bulk chemical and food-grade tank transportation.

Chris has a degree in Accounting from Stetson University in DeLand, FL, and an M.B.A. from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She is also a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida.

Ken

VP Human Resources & Capacity Development

Ken Wieck joined Bender Transportation in 2018 as the Vice President of Human Resources and Capacity Development. Joining Bender Transportation marked the continuation of a three-decade transportation and logistics career. Ken started his career moving freight on the dock in college in the LTL sector with TNT/USF Dugan and eventually into truckload with Comcar Industries.

Throughout Ken’s career, people have been his focus. In his first position in HR at TNT/USF Dugan, he was responsible for all Dock and Professional Operator qualification and onboarding. From that point on, capacity development, both driver and non-driver have been the cornerstone of his career. Since joining Bender Transportation, Ken has spearheaded the strategic people growth from 23 CDL A operators to 140 CDL A professionals.

Personally, Ken is from Ft. Collins, CO. Played NAIA Football and Baseball at Friends University in Wichita, KS where he graduated with degrees in Mass Communication and Business Administration. He obtained his master’s degree in human resources from Webster University and is a certified HR professional as well as holds his CEBS designation.

Marshall

VP of Purchasing Maintenance & Equipment

Marshall has been working for over 26 years as a senior manager in transportation, an industry he truly loves. At Bender, he oversees maintenance, purchasing, and equipment management. Marshall’s goal has always been to have the safest fleet on the road with the most innovative equipment. 

Marshall holds certifications in tires, brakes, MPG, and leadership. Overseeing different types of fleets (including refrigerated, tankers, flatbeds, dry vans, and oversized) has given him a broad view of the transportation industry and helped him create long-lasting friendships with the leaders in the logistics industry.

In his spare time, Marshall enjoys reading leadership and health and fitness books. He is a certified personal trainer and running has always been a way of life for him. He has completed five marathons and many half marathons. Marshall starts his day with a run and says, “it gives me time to think and give praise for the health and success I have been given”. Outside of that, he and his lovely wife enjoy spending time with their family of six children and 17 grandchildren.
